"Feeding the Wolf Within: Nurturing Love, Compassion, and Kindness"

 


There was once a village where people lived in harmony with nature and one another. In this village, an old Cherokee chief passed down wisdom to the younger generations, including his grandson.

One day, the chief took his grandson to a quiet spot near a flowing river and began to teach him about life. He spoke of the inner battle that exists within each person. "Within each of us, my child, there are two wolves constantly at odds," the chief explained. "One wolf represents anger, envy, fear, and negativity. The other wolf embodies love, compassion, kindness, and positivity."

The young boy listened intently and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins the battle?" The wise chief smiled and replied, "The one you feed."

Whenever he felt anger or envy rising, he reminded himself of his grandfather's teachings. He consciously redirected his focus to love, compassion, and kindness.
