true happiness and inner peace

Once upon a time, a wealthy merchant went on a pilgrimage to a holy place. He was very excited and happy as he thought that he would earn enough blessings and rewards for all his good deeds.

On the way, he met a poor farmer who was also a devotee of God. The wealthy merchant could not understand the concept of being happy without having any material possessions.

The farmer told him a small story of his own experience. One day, while working in the fields, he saw a bird carrying a twig in its beak. It tried to fly up but couldn't because the twig was too big and heavy for it. The little bird did not give up so easily. It tried several times but the twig was still holding it down.

Finally, the bird decided to break the twig into smaller pieces and then carried them one by one to build its nest. The farmer explained that the bird did not need any material possession, but its determination and perseverance were all it needed to achieve its goal.

The wealthy merchant realized the wisdom in the farmer's words, and he understood that true happiness lies in determination, perseverance, and faith in God. From that day onward, he began to lead a more fulfilling life, helping those in need and realizing that spiritual blessings were much more valuable than any material possessions.

And thus, the wealthy merchant's pilgrimage was a great success, for he had found true happiness and inner peace.
